Spooky! This is as far as you can go...or would want to! November 2009
In November 2006 my wife and I were on island to the fanfare of the Opening of the Golf Course. There was Mr. Greg Norman and his golfing and business buddies playing what was hopefully not the last round of golf in Anguilla.
The course looks better since June of 2009 even thought there is no maintenance. The rainy season must have helped. The quality of the grass may be an issue, but green it is.
.
Not as bad as it looked in June 2009 Now a bit greener on November 2009
The villas are still under skeleton crew construction, but they are there and can be finished within 12 to 18 months, but I fear a judge will ultimately hold much of the fate of those buildings.
Open or not I want One of these!!!!!
The upscale market is either in recovery or still in deep failure as evidenced now by the very public for sale indication of Cerulean ($12 Million) and all of the Altamer properties at about ($60 Million for the lot of them (3)).Property is all for sale on Anguilla all the time to be sure, but publicly visible listings of large properties is on the rise.
Land around and near the golf course area is noticeably lower in price now than just 1 year ago. A lot at $400K or so can now be had at $150 to 200, and many new lots in South Hill are as low as $125K per buildable lot.
Times are tough and interesting. It is my view that we are at an inflection point of either a new LEG DOWN or a stabilization and 3 to 5 year recovery on the island.
Temenos is your benchmark!
