St Martin - The Third Time Is the Charm

After a long flight set from Memphis to Dallas to San Juan and then to St Martin that went off without really a hitch we arrived.

Again our recommendation remains spend the money where you want to. We got a very cheap car from Budget and that is all we need and a nice Villa on Orient Beach that we are going to recommend to anyone callded Joie De Vie.

It is just about a two minute walk to the beach and you have access to La Playa beach chairs etc for free.

The weather as we start off is somewhat suspect, but it is better raining here than at home. The sun is peaking through.

It has been a few years since we vacationed on SXM. We have been using it as a jumping off point for the last 2 or three years to Anguilla and St Barths while throwing in a few other islands along the way.

The EURO is very strong against the US Dollar as I write this at about 1.54 dollars per EURO. That makes the French side very expensive for food etc. So the simple rule of thumb is to remember that the Dutch side is different in every way. Different currency and value of the dollar to that currency and different Current!!!! 110 vs 220. But you also get a different attitude on the Dutch side that we do not prefer. MORE TO COME.
